March 2019 –

Month: March 2019

A new Poison Dart Trap is coming to the game, and it harms both enemies and allies alike. There are also new items to forage, including tropical bananas — which, like apples, replenish a bit of health — coconuts, which act like a mini-Slurp Juice, and peppers, which give you a brief boost of speed along with some extra health.

Epic Games has also added a new game mode in the patch called Floor is Lava. One of the most requested game modes in Fortnitehistory, the mode will have the map slowly fill with molten rock until it covers the everything. Near the end of a round, player builds will be the only thing left to stand on.

This patch also adds Arena mode, the first game mode that players will need to compete in to reach the World Cup qualifiers. Arena mode is a ranked mode, with skill based matchmaking, where players will have to score points in their games to advance from division to division. Once players have reached the highest division, Champion League, they’ll unlock the ability to play in the World Cup qualifier tournaments when they go live in April.

With the addition of this new mode, which is only available for solo and duo players, Fortnite’s standard mode is also changing a bit. Regular battle royale is moving away from the competitive settings that Epic v buck generator recently introduced, which gave effective health and materials for eliminations. Those rules will still be around for Arena and Pop-up Cups, but they won’t be in regular matches anymore.

For a full look at all the changes coming to Fortnite in this patch you can check out the change list below.

The Baller no longer applies damage to players on collision.

  • The knockback/bounce effect will remain unchanged.

Future Baller Iterations

  • We’ve noticed a lot of discussion around the Baller, so here’s an update!
  • We’re not satisfied with the current use of Ballers, specifically in the late game. With the v8.30 update, we will release a change that will allow players to shoot through the glass of The Baller.
  • Non-glass parts will still have collision and block damage from bullets.

Siphon/Material Changes

  • In v7.40 we implemented a few Pop-up Cup settings as a test in core modes. After monitoring a combination of gameplay, data, and feedback, we’ve gathered necessary info to conclude this initial test. We feel it has resulted in an unhealthy level of aggressive play, diminishing other viable strategies. The following changes have been reverted in all core modes:

50 Health (or Shield) based on your health when the Elimination occurs.

50/50/50 materials dropped on Elimination.

500/500/500 Cap on materials.

Harvest rate increased by 40%

That said, these mechanics have proven to be positive in our competitive playlists. All changes above remain enabled in the new Arena Game Mode.

Infantry Rifle

  • Converted to hitscan, meaning this weapon no longer fires projectiles (snipers) and now fires the same as other Assault Rifles.
  • Base damage reduced from 45/42 to 42/40.
  • Uses the same damage fall off profile as existing assault rifles.

Poison Dart Trap

  • Available in Uncommon Rarity.
  • Can be placed on walls, floors, and ceilings.
  • Found from Floor Loot.
  • Can be triggered up to three grid cells away.
  • Fires Poison Dart projectiles a distance of three horizontal grid cells (four vertical grid cells).
  • Targets hit by darts will receive a damage-over-time effect that applies damage directly to health, bypassing any shields.

10 health damage per tick.

8 total ticks over 7 seconds for a total damage of 80.

Subsequent hits will refresh the duration of the effect, but the amount of damage per tick does not change.

New Foraged Items

  • Bananas

Instantly grant 5 health when consumed.

Can be found in the tropical biome.

  • Coconuts

Foraged by damaging palm trees.

When consumed, Coconuts grant 5 points of effective health over a short time. That means it will replenish shields if the player is at max health.

Can be found in tropical and desert biomes.

  • Peppers

When consumed, peppers instantly grant 5 health and also increase the player’s movement speed by 20% for 10 seconds.

Can be found in the desert biome.

Fortnite is known for having some extravagant events – just take the Marshemello concert as an example – but the latest one is rather less glamorous, and will require players to get down and dirty by joining in a communal dig.

If you remember the iceberg from several months ago, you’ll know Epic v buck generator seems to have figured out a way for players to damage items simultaneously across all servers: and the dig site appears to be functioning in the same way. This time there are a variety of rocks for players to break, totalling a huge number of hit points. Oh yeah – it looks like weapons won’t do anything this time, you can only use your pickaxe. This is going to take a while.

There’s another Fortnite in-game event going on, everyone’s trying to break some rocks together.

Very upset I can’t use the plane to cheese it this time.639:56 AM – Mar 28, 2019See Emma Kent’s other TweetsTwitter Ads info and privacy

Unlike the iceberg, which upon breaking only yielded an unopenable hatch, players are hoping the dig (which appeared after the recent patch) could give them some better rewards. Dataminers discovered the rocks cover a downwards slope, and judging by the masks it looks like another dig could pop up over by Dusty Divot. And, as season eight is all about pirates and buried treasure, maybe this could tie into the theme. Some Fortnite lore bores are hoping it could relate to The Visitor, who came from the meteor that previously crashed into Dusty Depot.

To swing by the dig site and chip in, you’ll need to make your way to the pirate bridge west of Paradise Palms. Thankfully this event seems to be a much slower one than last time: here’s to hoping the efforts pay off.

Epic took away Fortnite‘s Bounce Pad and many players still haven’t forgiven it, but the company is back with a new item to fill the void: Poison Trap. This item is a square element akin to the Trap, but instead of shooting deadly spikes at players, the item appears to launch small darts (or something similar) with poisoned tips at players who walk in front of it.

The Poison Trap first appeared within the Fortnite update 8.10 code, but the item didn’t appear in that version of the game and wasn’t made official by Epic. It’s unclear why the company didn’t add it to the game with that release — it may have needed more work before it could launch — but we now know that it’ll arrive as early as this week.

News Feed Update:

Epic Games apparently prematurely published a “Coming Soon” item in the Fortnite v buck generator in-game News Feed, revealing a Poison Trap item with a brief description and picture. This item has the same Aztec-like design as the new Sunny Steps location, as well as multiple holes that either eject a poisonous gas or shoot poisoned arrows/darts.

The News Feed has been updated to remove that “Coming Soon” alert, indicating Epic v buck generator published it earlier than it was supposed to. The presence means we can now confirm the company does plan to release the item and that it will be appearing at some point in the near future.

In a tweet on the official Fortnite Twitter account, Epic v buck generator said it will release game update 8.20 on Wednesday, March 27, at 5AM ET. It’s reasonable to assume the Poison Trap will arrive in that update, but the company hasn’t confirmed when it will release the item.

Fortnite: Battle Royale update is coming tomorrow morning, Epic Games has announced. “Ahoy, Mateys! The v8.11 update is setting sail tomorrow, March 20,” the company wrote.

Epic has confirmed the update will arrive at 4am CT, which is when we expect all servers to go down for maintenance and the deployment of the v8.11 update. “During this time we’ll be updating some of our Social Services,” the company wrote. “You may notice some irregularity with your friend’s list & party options until these updates have finished.”

Epic v buck generator usually reveals patch notes a few minutes before servers go offline, so players should expect a full breakdown of changes coming to v8.11 by 4am tomorrow. Servers are usually back a couple of hours after the downtime begins, if there is any tomorrow, so players should be able to play their first matches around 6am CT if the deployment of the update goes smoothly.

Developers at Epic have not confirmed much of what’s coming to this update. The new Flintlock Pistol that was revealed yesterday might be included, since items that are teased on Mondays are usually added to the game immediately in the next update.

Other details, or the lack thereof, indicate fairly small changes coming with v8.11. Players seem fine with the current state of the game, except with a few complaints about the game’s latest vehicle, The Baller. Since these complaints are not widespread, it’s unlikely that Epic will take any action to nerf it this update.

All updates and changes will be listed in the patch notes tomorrow.

Epic Games love to release special game modes to celebrate various events around the world such as the Superbowl. Now, it seems St. Patrick’s Day will be the next holiday to be commemorated if the latest set of leaks are to be believed.

Data miner @Lucas7yoshi_ was able to uncover a new LTM named ‘All Green’ which will be available in solos, duos and squads if it does become available. Players will only be able to loot green weapons unless opening a buried treasure chest to upgrade their loadout.

The mode could see the return of one of the rarest skins in Fortnite – Sgt. Green Clover. The uncommon skin hasn’t been seen in the item shop since April 2018 and many users would be overjoyed to see it make a comeback.

As well as the female skin, a brand new male cosmetic item could be on the way with leaks revealing a special St. Patricks Day style for the Overtaker skin. However, as seen in the past, it’s v buck generator likely it will be a completely new item if added to the shop.

TWITTER – @LUCAS7YOSHI_The new ‘Mauler’ skin could be available for purchase in the Fortnite item shop

The skin will be named ‘Mauler’ with the description ‘Mean and Green’.  Nothing has been confirmed yet but keep your eyes peeled for its release in the near future.

The new Starter Pack includes the Laguna Outfit, a festive new Back Bling called “Pineapple Strummer” and a pineapple wrap that will make all your guns and vehicles look delicious.

Like all Starter Packs this one will also include some V-Bucks (likely 600) and will probably cost around five or six dollars.

There’s no telling when this pack will go live in the game but it probably won’t be long. This is the first Starter Pack to include a wrap, so that’s fun.

So far Fortnite  v buck generatoris having a pretty great Season 8. Even though the game peaked sometime in 2018, there’s still a lot to enjoy including something that the new kid on the block—Apex Legends—doesn’t have: Lots of different modes, from big team modes to solo. As great as Apex Legends is, I’m getting pretty tired of having to play in squads of three.

Nvidia published a report that reveals gamers play Fortnite and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds better on machines with better graphics cards and monitors with high refresh rates, though the effect of the study may turn out to be a negative one for PC gaming.

“Buy a better graphics card” is certainly something you’d expect Nvidia would say, but in a blog post, it revealed data that proves playing on higher frame rates often leads to better performance in Battle Royale games.

Nvidia analyzed the kill-death ratios of Fortnite and PUBG players acquired from GeForce Experience Highlights data. The kill-death ratio is one of the most common metrics of player performance, comparing the number of times that a player has killed an opponent to the number of times that the player was killed by an opponent.

The study found that in comparison to players running Fortnite and PUBG on the company’s older GeForce GTX-600 Series, those who have the latest GeForce RTX 20-Series have a 53 percent higher kill-death ratio.

Players might point out that perhaps those who bought better, more expensive graphics cards play more to maximize their investment, gaining more practice. However, the report also debunked that theory by showing that better graphics cards resulted in better performance, whether players play a few hours per week or several hours each day.

The report also included the effect of using monitors with higher refresh rates in combination with Nvidia’s graphics cards. The data, which covered 60 Hz, 144 Hz, and 240 Hz monitors, revealed that monitors with higher refresh rates took better advantage of graphics cards, also resulting in better kill-death ratios.

Gamers do not need to drop thousands of dollars on a high-end gaming PC just to be able to play today’s most popular games, particularly in the Battle Royale genre that also includes Apex Legends and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 – Blackout in addition to fortnite v bucks generator and PUBG. However, Nvidia shows that players who invest in hardware to enable the highest frames-per-second rates and lowest latency are better equipped to unlock their “full potential on the battlefield.”

Over the weekend, a note popped up as part of the in-game Fortnite news feed teasing a new item called “Buried Treasure.” The accompanying image looks like the Treasure Maps featured as part of the former challenge type. We haven’t seen those since Season 5, Week 9, and we initially thought the challenge format might return because of how well it fit with the Season 8 theme. But now, it’s starting to look like there will be something totally different.

The in-game preview reads, “Scour the island for hidden loot with the new Buried Treasure item!”
“Scour the island for hidden loot with the new Buried Treasure item!”

Rather than a certain kind of challenge, Buried Treasure is actually the name of a new free v bucks no verification item that’s being added to the game. The map featured in the image has an X southeast of the volcano that corresponds to the beacon of light that led the Ice King, Prisoner, and Blackheart to a chest in the jungle during the Season 8 trailer.

Could it be that players who find the map can then go to that location and claim lots of treasure?

A likely explanation for this new item is that it’ll function similarly to a Supply Llama or Supply Drop in that it’ll offer better loot than regular chests and will also be harder to find. But there has to be some kind of mechanic involving a treasure map.

It’s possible that Epic Games borrowed this idea for Season 8, but because the theme is “‘X’ marks the spot” v bucks free and the teaser image has a map, there has to be some kind of map-based functionality that goes along with this.

Our best guess is that players can randomly find a treasure map as an item, and if they follow it to reach a location marked with an “X,” they can claim some great loot. But similar to what happened in the Season 8 trailer, it’s likely that several players will get the same map leading to the same place and have to compete to claim the prize. ©2019.
